With songs by the likes of Prince, James brown, Stevie Wonder and other classic funk and soul entertainers as interpreted by Joel and his incredibly talented team of musicians this is the best party band sussex has to offer bar none!

...With a selection of classic funk and soul somgs at our disposal we offer a slightly more niche function package (you'll not hear Mr Brightide while there's so many other bands playing it) meaning we will not reluctantly play songs we don't enjoy performing. We believe that having fun on stage means it's a bettermore enjoyable party atmosphere off stage...while songs like "Wonderwall" have their place we know we perform better when we know it engages players and audience equally...

Meet The Band...

The line-up ca change depending on availability but thankfully there is a wealth of amazing talent along the south coast to join this amazing band! Below are the core members:

James...

Unflappable and sturdy in life as he is on stage in providing the ever funky low end for the funk band. James has been playing in joel's band line-ups on and off for decades now and often edits amzing video footage from gigs and rehearsal. His fantastic bass playing is accompanied by his vocal skills harmonising effortlessly while keeping that bassline keeping us dancing! You can hear James' fantastic playing (aswell as his mixing and editing) in the video below.

Rufus...

A true gent of soul, Rhythm and Blues, Rufus can be founmd behind the keyboard, a guitar and with a powerful voice, turning the soul vibes up to 11. He will front some of the set to bring someof his own authentic funky vibe and supporting Joel with longer sets.

Richmond...

Richmond, a flamboyant and exciting player of many styles has powered many great bands across the south-east and it's a privelidge do have him on board when he brings ao much experience and excitiment with his playing. He teaches regularly also and can be found backing some of the South-East's most known and booked bands.
